Parish Priest – Fr Geo Francis MCBS

A little about myself… my name is Fr. GEO FRANCIS and I was born in 1978 in India. I was brought up in Kerala, one of the southern states of India, proudly claimed by its inhabitants as God’s own country.

I am a member of the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS) and belong to the Emmaus Province of this order. After my twelve years of priestly formation, by God’s grace, I was ordained a priest in 2005. I was given the opportunity to serve the Church in India in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka and the North East.

India is a vast country where there are many regional languages and diverse cultures. Since my congregation had sent me to different states, I have had the privilege to experience and cherish different traditions and diversities.
Before my journey to Australia, I was in Arunachal Pradesh, one of the north eastern states of India, inhabited by tribal people.

This was the time I realised the importance of my priestly ministry. Today, I am delighted that Archbishop Mark has appointed me as the parish priest to this great parish community of Our Lady of the Way, Petrie and St. Francis Xavier, Dayboro. I am very pleased for this exciting opportunity from God, to learn from you and to serve you.

I request your earnest prayers for a fruitful ministry here. I pray for my Guardian Angel’s constant care and protection, and for the intercession of St. Joseph and Mother Mary to help me successfully move ahead in my mission.

Once again, I thank you and cordially welcome you to our faith community.

Yours in Christ,
FR.GEO FRANCIS MCBS
